I am not going to start this blog by painting myself as some sort of maternal martyr. Yes, I am a working mother of two. I have a home, a husband, and a ridiculously busy life. But I have found, after much denial, that I am truly myself when I am able to create. Whether it be a short story or a beaded lamp...I want, desire, and need constant creative outlets. Creativity speaks to me everyday...sometimes in whispers, but other times in full blown waves.
This blog is two things. It is first a personal reflection for myself as I work on various projects throughout the year. But it is also a means to motivate others - people who should rise up and get moving on their own creative dreams.
Finally, I chose the name My Indigo Cottage for simple reasons. Indigo is a beautiful color and one of my favorite words.
So let's hope this is the beginning of a beautiful blogging experience.
